We went to another fabulous event at The American Library on 20 November. Not that I needed Fabrice Jaumont to convince me of the beauty of learning two or more languages. It did make me wonder what it would take to set up a public bilingual primary school in Paris.
The CNRS are doing some important reserach into bilingual language acquisition. Details (in French) below:
Chère Madame, cher Monsieur,
Nous sommes un laboratoire CNRS (www.lscp.net/babylab) dont les recherches portent principalement sur l'acquisition du langage.
Gillan Turnham, our Head Teacher, has been asked to make a presentation at the English Language Schools Association's Teacher Development Day on 21 March 2018. Well done, Gillian! Using Visual Literacy to develop Children's Writing is the theme.
This is all part of rasing the profile of RSH and our development as a serious organisation.
Following the success of Derek's talk to Message members on the Bilingual Environment, he was asked to write a summary for the Message magazine.
Message provides support for English speaking parents in the Paris area. Derek's wife is a member and took part in pre-natal classes, children's playgroups and met many like minded parents through the network. If you are interested, go to their website.
